In view of the events of the last few days, from the Communist Youth Union of Spain, we want to send our fraternal embrace to the peoples in struggle in Lebanon and Chile, especially to our comrades from the Union of Lebanese Democratic Youth and the Communist Youth of Chile.
From our latitudes, we observe with expectation and encouragement the popular uprising that the peoples of the world have been carrying out during the last months. If only a few weeks ago we followed the mobilizations in Ecuador, now our eyes are fixed on the battle being waged in the streets of Chile and Lebanon.
We find a common denominator in the demands that lead working people to take to the streets, which has to do with defending the interests of our class in the face of a new wave of economic attacks. It is the prelude to the global crisis looming over the capitalist system, which is already preparing the ground for a new escalation of neoliberal measures that will allow it to recompose itself and maintain the privileges of the capitalists.
Thus, while the bourgeoisie continues to increase its profits and develop its expansionist policy that condemns the global future of the planet, the working men and women live the entry of new measures that diminish our living conditions. In Ecuador, Moreno put on the table the cutting of fuel subsidies, in Chile Piñera wanted to increase the price of the subway and in Lebanon, the streets are filled with people against the rise in taxes. However, we know that this is not about specific facts and concrete measures, but about the neoliberal course, they intend to establish as a future for our countries.
For this reason, we believe that it is time to be on the streets more than ever, as we have always been, connecting popular anger to the necessary overcoming of the current model that condemns us to misery and precariousness.
Nor do we want to forget the repression that the puppet governments of the oligarchy use as a tool to try to intimidate our peoples. We strongly condemn police brutality, which has already left several dead and hundreds injured. From here we stand in solidarity with all the people who are suffering repression.
To our brothers and sisters of the world, we send all our encouragement to continue in their struggle against their governments and we wish them every success in defending the interests of the people.
Long live proletarian internationalism!
